Doom Pop
Pop melodies carried by the weight, darkness or sustained guitar sounds of doom-related music.
Doom Pop has been used loosely for music that combines an accessible melodic line with much darker, slower guitar or electronic arrangements. The label can describe a specific contrast in a recording, yet there is no clearly documented original Doom Pop scene.
On IDIOTEQ
In this archive the label appears twice. REVERSELS, a dark wave and electronic act, were introduced in 2021 as a queer doom pop band whose album LaSabre combined elements of doom, electronic and industrial music.
In 2025 LIBBIANSKI's single Continue The Sad was presented as a slow-burn mix of shoegaze and doom-pop tones.
