Dream Metal
Heavy guitar music whose melody and production soften the edges without removing the weight.
Dream Metal has been used sporadically for combinations of Metal, dream pop and shoegaze-related techniques. It has no documented single founding community. The related term Blackgaze points to a more specific combination of black-metal attack and guitar texture; Doomgaze instead emphasizes slower weight. The Dream Metal label may describe an individual record that borrows from both while keeping a different structure. Layered guitar effects, spacious vocals and long instrumental passages can appear, but those traits alone do not establish a fully autonomous genre.
