Experimental Rap

Experimental Rap describes rap recordings that question familiar production, arrangement or vocal practices. It has emerged through different Hip-Hop scenes rather than one original school. MF DOOM built unconventional rhyme and song structures into his work, while Dälek used distortion and noise. Artists such as clipping. later developed other combinations of rap, electronic processing and fragmented sound. None of these approaches is compulsory for the label.

The strongest records still depend on the interaction of beat and voice, even when that beat is unusual or sparse. Experimental Hip-Hop is closely related and may also include instrumental music.
