Industrial Hardcore
Industrial Hardcore has at least two possible meanings. In electronic dance music, a harder, industrial-influenced style emerged around early-1990s hardcore techno and gabber, with distorted machine rhythms and noisy production. Elsewhere, the name has been applied to guitar-based Hardcore borrowing drum machines, samples or abrasive electronic effects. Those histories are connected only in particular recordings. It would be misleading to attach one origin to both.
An electronic track may organize its energy around a heavily distorted kick and short sampled phrases. A hardcore band might keep live drums and shouted vocals beneath similar processing.
On IDIOTEQ
In this archive the label is not used for gabber or hardcore techno. It appears on a 2026 article about Oslo's TRUEANDTRUE, a four-piece introduced as an industrialized Hardcore band, and on a 2023 interview with London's ERROR CD, presented as an experimental Industrial duo.
