Industrial Hip-Hop

Industrial Hip-Hop is used for artists integrating Industrial sound design into Hip-Hop's rhythms and vocal forms. Dälek developed albums built around thick, manipulated samples and uncompromising rap delivery. Other groups approached similar material from noise, electronic and underground rap networks. The name points to an audible mixture, but its boundary with Industrial Rap is not consistently maintained across sources or listeners.

Distorted percussion, sustained noise and unusual sample treatment can change how a rap verse is heard. The voice need not be obscured; sometimes it is the most direct element in the track. This is not a reason to claim all industrial music originated in hip-hop or that all industrial-influenced rap belongs to rock.
