Industrial Rap
Industrial Rap points toward hip-hop with abrasive production informed by industrial and noise techniques. Dälek's records from the early 2000s offered a particularly striking approach, building layered distortion and dense electronic textures around rap rather than replacing the genre's verbal center. Later artists including clipping. investigated related territory through different production decisions. The story is rooted in hip-hop history as much as in industrial music.
The instrumental can be harsh and crowded while the voice remains rhythmically precise. Other pieces are spacious, using a low pulse and unusual samples to draw attention to each line. Harshness alone does not define the style, nor does one noisy beat change every rap record into industrial rap.
