Slow Rock

Rock music finding its force in space, sustained chords and deliberately unhurried rhythm.

Slow Rock is a broad descriptive phrase, not a well-established scene with one origin. Rock bands have written slow songs since the genre's beginnings, and slower music appears in blues rock, slowcore, doom-related rock and ballads. A deliberate tempo alone cannot tell a listener whether the music is sentimental, abrasive or experimental. The most useful account would identify the specific tagged band's rhythm and guitar writing: does the song follow a clear rock-ballad structure, or does it build through slow repetition and changes of texture? Without that context, assigning a new strict child relationship would confuse musical tempo with musical history.
