Synth Hardcore

Hardcore urgency delivered through synthesizers and electronic processing rather than the expected guitar setup.

Synth Hardcore is a loose phrase that may describe two quite different sounds: punk-derived Hardcore with synthesizers, or hard Electronic dance music using aggressive synthesizer patterns. The first connects to Synth Punk and certain newer punk bands; the second belongs to hardcore techno and has a different scene history. A short burst of distorted synth over rapid live drums can belong to the former, while heavily sequenced rhythms may belong to the latter.
